I don’t leave reviews often
This is the best of these types of games by far. Yes there’s still ads for boosts but the standard reward is really good as is, and the ads give you substantial boosts if you do choose to watch the ad; and watching the ads does give the developers a nice boost I’m sure but it’s not like the game becomes a slog if you avoid the ads. The kids and wife think it’s cute and it brings me caveman like joy enough said.
Watch ads to win, survivor?
This game seems like it would be a lot of fun if it wasn’t just watch ads to win. The balance is all wrong if you don’t watch ads you lose hard, skill isn’t really part of it so it’s a real slow slog of a grind, and if you do watch them it’s too easy and you’re just watching ads 75% of the time. I could pay six bucks to do no ads but it’s not clear if that means no more forced ads or you get all the ad rewards for free or if you just get no more bonuses?
More clarity on what you’re buying and a better balance so you don’t need ads the first level or two then one ad does it and ramp up maybe? Then I wouldn’t feel like I’m just clicking ad after ad after ad. And I’d pay six bucks if it was clear what I’d get: a balanced fun game without ads.
For the developers
Progression is broken.
At a certain point purchasing upgrades cost 15-40k
If you can get to a boss, then die, you will get 20k coins in a single match.
If you move on to the next stage, and haven’t made enough money to upgrade your squad you will likely die first or second wave of zombies earning only 5k per match.
So essentially it’s better to not beat the boss but be strong enough to easily get there , then die. This earns the max income so that you can purchase all the upgrades needed to beat the next boss before even getting to that map.
The game needs to incentivize progress better so that I’m not trying to capitalize in the beginning vs experiencing more.
5k match for a 40k upgrade means I have to play 6 times vs playing 2 times and letting the boss kill me.
Mind you that is only for one upgrade. You need about 12 upgrades to get to the next stage. So we’re talking about playing a single stage 6x12=68 times vs playing a single stage 2x12=24 times.
It’s too significant of a loss to progress in your game.
