  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

Again, you astound me. how is it ignorant to be weary of having a president in office that has no political experience to speak of, he's such a dynamic candidate because he says whatever anybody wants to hear, but nobody tells him that he contradicts himself because they fear being blasted for pointing out the problems with barrack. It HAS been the object of much discussion because he has made a speech on race, his mentor and pastor attacks America and white people, so yes sir this campaign has een made into a race battle, sorry to tell you.

From what we have learned about Barak, he could be the real-deal. From what we could learn about Barak, he could be a real imposter. I think his pennsylvania comment is a sign of things to come. The longer hilary and barak fight, the more we will learn about both of them. And i agree with Supermonk that McCain is pretty darn honest and forthcoming. he's just not an ideal conservative, and it will hurt him.

Barak gave her $10,000 for her campaign fund. But of course that has nothing to do with it.

I think I disagree with everyone I've read on this thread so far but only disagree with one point made by Bukkake Bunny and since I admire everything else he has said I will only address that one point.

I don't think it was a mistake. Barack Obama was telling the truth. The truth he sees as he travels the country, the truth he saw in Pennsylvania. I believe it will do the same thing as his addressing the race question in this nation did. It will resonate with people. I'm from a small rural town. And I've been in more than a dozen of them over the past couple years. People are bitter and fearful. Religion is running rampant and conflicts are arising in all directions. Between believers and non-believers and even different religious groups. Guns have always been big around here but not like it is now. People ARE clinging to them. Afraid of gun control more than ever and seeing them as their only defense against the world at large. Not just hunting or protection but its like the only thing they still have.

This is the second time I've seen Obama speak, not to the heartland, but to the American heart. The first on on race relations. I described his handling of his reverend and the racial tensions as brilliant. But the longer I watched I began to think it was simpler than that. He simply told the truth that we all know whether we want to admit it or not.

Its the same in this instance. Its ridiculous to contend that Americans, and especially those in small rural towns are not bitter, fearful and clinging to things other than hope which as been all but lost.

As an example I would use none other than our own little forum community here. We tend towards bitterness here. We are on edge enough for discord to outweigh having a good time, and we tend to cling to our beliefs more ardently with less progress as time goes on. Let someone from outside the US put up an anti gun thread and just look how most of us cling to the very idea of guns.

Naturally Hillary, with the help of conservatives and the media is going to try and make a very big deal out of this and may be able to create some divisions and a lot of noise. But ultimately I believe the truth will be born out and admitted. I've also been watching the polls very carefully. Hillary went into Pennsylvania with close to a 20 point lead in the polls there. The last I heard Obama had cut that lead to less than 10.

I think most people, myself included, consistently under estimate Obama. But the more I see of him and from what I've seen the same is true of the American Public the better he comes off as sincere, truthful and an actual change form the kind of leadership we've had for decades.

Only time will tell but I believe that instead of a mistake, Obama telling the truth will sustain rather than hurt him in the long run.

If you ladies could just stop bitchin' at eachother long enough to get organized, you could put every man in power out of business in short order. You are the fuckin' majority, you control ALL the pussy, and you supposedly have the greater capacity for multi-tasking!

Why aren't you already in charge? It only the took the Irish a couple of decades before they had voted out every non-Irish person in the greater Boston area once they had a majority there . . . come on, sistas - get with it!

pfft! hell stumbler, even barak is now saying what he said (which you say is not a mistake) is not what he meant and is mistaken view of his beliefs. so you and barak are not really on the same page, it appears. hopefully what he says next won't sound like sniper-fire at the airport.

The last poll I saw had him down by six points...I wouldn't call that "losing badly".

I personally didn't have a problem with what he said. But then, I'm one of those elitist people. :)

I think it's very unfortunate that we allow our political campaigns to focus on exactly this type of sound bite "gotchas". It was the same thing with Hillary's gaffe about Bosnia (which, by the way, I thought was far more egregious than Obama's statement). But why do we allow the media talking heads to define and frame the race in these terms, instead of asking the candidates the really HARD questions?

Why, for example, has no one asked John McCain what he plans to do vis a vis Iran, and how his policy might differ from that of George Bush?

Hide and watch Bladway. I've heard him say that he might have stated it better and what he said was clumsy. I've heard him say that he did not mean it to be disservice or offensive. But instead of backing away from it the last speech I saw clips of he defended it as the truth to a spontaneous standing ovations. The equivalent of I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.

I have not heard him say that it was a mistake or that he takes it back.

Thank you Kimiko I have not had the time to check the latest polls but I had heard he was less than 10 points behind and that is pretty impressive when he went into Pennsylvania trailing Hillary by more than 20 points.

That is particularly telling when most political analysists believe that the question of Clinton's viability does not rest on simply winning in Pennsylvania but to remain viable she must be able to win by big margins.

I think that would be a very good question. So would calling attention to his statement that we will keep troops in Iraq for the next 100 years he has been backpeddling over that statement for weeks now.

And come to think of it, isn't Honest John being sued for renigging on his pledge to accept Public Campaign money but then changed his mind when the big bucks started rolling in.

Ya know what? Fuck it. I'm not even gonna bother defending Pennsylvanians to the few people who said what they did about them on this thread. If you're that damn ignorant, then you're not worth my time or energy

Stumbler, I should clarify, when I say Obama made a mistake in making this statement, I meant it was possibly a tactical error that somebody purely interested in getting elected might not have wanted to make.

On the other hand, personally, I can't help but agree with what he said. As you stated, it was the sad truth. People are just too afraid to accept that.

Actually, it seems like it's mainly the cable news networks that are beating this thing to death right now, not the people out there in Pennsyltucky. The polls don't show a significant move, although it's still perhaps too early to tell. Obama is an unconventional cuss -- rather than play defense, he seems more and more to be saying that while he may not have said it as clearly as he should have, he meant what he said, and that people ARE bitter.
