It is also strange that you CANNOT accept anything different than your own biased and predjudiced view as regards the Austrian people.
When was the last time you ACTUALLY spoke to an elderly Austrian, whose parents were told either support Hitler or die.
Like I have said before; I speak with elderly Austrians on a daily basis, as they give me help with the language also a valueable insight to their feelings when the whole world virtually disowned them.

Just for your, and everyone else's, thoughts. YOUR points on Austrians blindly and enthusiastically, supporting Hitler HAVE been refuted. READ the appropiate posts and adjoining text links.

It is also possible that you do not take any notice of the BBC, because if you did then you would have read this report from their website. It clearly shows just what the Austrian people feel about Hitler, and maybe you should read it then fully understand these people before you even think about posting your insinuations again.

I read the link. It did not say anything about the popularity of Anschluss in 1938, or for a long time later. I am sure some Austrians opposed Anschluss. I also doubt that the photographs I have posted here of jubilant Austrians celebrating unification with Germany were staged.

If you had read the link I posted to the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration/death camp, you would have noticed that it was started in 1938. This was just 1 of the deterrents that was used by Hitler to gain what looked like over-whelming support from the Austrian people, even when the opposite was true.

The house where I have my apartment has an elderly couple living in the apartment above mine, we speak on a daily basis and they are always telling me about what it was like during those times. Sure there were some people who felt that unification with Germany was a good thing, BUT these people were in a MINORITY. Which is proven by Hitler NOT wanting the Austrian people to have a public vote, because he KNEW what the Austrian feeling was and he could NOT face the thought of defeat.
